Ive been feeling a bit under the weather lately. Nothing seriously wrong, just a bit sick. Today, for the first time in a few days, I woke up feeling better. I had some energy to start my day and I was motivated to cross some tasks off my to-do list. Credit the NyQuil or sleeping for 12 hours, but I was ready for anything and everything. Or so I thought.
The first thing I do when I get to the office is get coffee. I love coffee. I am so badly addicted to coffee. Hot coffee, room temperature coffee, iced coffee-I don’t discriminate. When I am at work I usually have hot coffee fresh from the pot. Coffee helps to keep me at warp speed and happy. Normally, I am very careful. One too many spills and you tend to learn your lesson.
Well today, I didn’t remember that lesson because I burned my mouth…BAD. You know when you have to spit something out because it is too hot but at that point it is too late and your poor tongue feels like sandpaper? That was me. Usually I would laugh at this. Today I have a tasting to finalize our caterer. What will I be able to taste you ask? Coffee and burnt tongue.
Does anyone have any tips for how to heal a burnt tongue in t-minus six hours? Any tips for how to slow down? Asking for a friend.
If you too spit out scalding hot coffee all over your desk in front of your coworker while burning your mouth before a catering tasting, I feel you. I commiserate with you and I am a failure freak with you.
